Pharmacological EffectsIt is a vitamin drug. Vitamin C forms a reversible redox system with dehydrovitamin C in the body, which plays an important role in biological redox reactions and cellular respiration. Vitamin C participates in amino acid metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis, collagen synthesis, and the synthesis of intercellular substances. It can reduce capillary permeability, promote iron absorption in the intestine, enhance the body’s resistance to infection, and enhance liver detoxification ability. After oral administration, vitamin C is easily absorbed in the small intestine and widely distributed throughout the body. It is about 25% bound to plasma proteins and metabolized in the liver. Vitamin C is mainly excreted in urine in its original form. When overdosed, it is metabolized into oxalic acid (ethanedioic acid). Effects and UsesIt is a vitamin drug. It is used for vitamin C deficiency, fever, chronic wasting diseases, etc. |
