Pharmacological Effects

Pharmacodynamics: Enrofloxacin belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics specifically used for animals. It exhibits a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect against Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Pasteurella, Proteus, Serratia mucosus, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Mycoplasma, and Chlamydia. Its action against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Streptococcus is relatively weak, and its effect against anaerobic bacteria is also weak. It has a pronounced post-antibiotic effect against sensitive bacteria. The antimicrobial mechanism of this drug is to inhibit bacterial DNA gyrase, interfering with bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair recombination, causing bacteria to die due to inability to grow and multiply normally.
Pharmacokinetics: This drug is well absorbed when orally administered in most animals. The bioavailability of chickens is 62.2%-84%. It is widely distributed in the body of birds and can enter tissues and fluids (including bones) well. Except for cerebrospinal fluid, the drug concentration in almost all tissues is higher than in plasma. The main metabolic pathway in the liver is the removal of the ethyl group from the 7-piperazine ring to form ciprofloxacin, followed by oxidation and glucuronide conjugation. It is mainly excreted through the kidneys (through tubular secretion and glomerular filtration), with 15%-50% excreted in urine as the unchanged drug. The half-life of this drug in chickens is 9.1-14.2 hours.

It is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial drug used to treat bacterial diseases and Mycoplasma infections in chickens and racing pigeons.

Usage and Dosage

Calculated based on this product. Mixed drinking: For chickens, 0.25-0.75 grams of this product is mixed with 1 liters of water. For racing pigeons, 0.5 grams of this product is mixed with 1 liters of water. Administer twice daily for 3-5 consecutive days.
