Pharmacological ActionTetracycline antibiotic. This product has a strong effect on Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus hemolyticus, Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus proteus, and Clostridium. It is also sensitive to Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Brucella, and Pasteurella. However, its antibacterial effect is stronger than tetracycline and oxytetracycline. When administered orally to chickens, absorption is incomplete with low bioavailability. It is clinically used for the prevention and treatment of chronic respiratory disease and Escherichia coli disease in chickens. Role and UseAntibiotic drug.
