Pharmacological Action

Pharmacodynamics: Amoxicillin belongs to the β-lactam antibacterial agents with a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect. Its antibacterial spectrum and antibacterial activity are basically the same as ampicillin. Its antibacterial activity against most gram-positive bacteria is slightly weaker than penicillin. It is sensitive to penicillinase, so it is ineffective against penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It has a strong effect on gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella, Haemophilus, Brucella, and Pasteurella, but these bacteria are prone to developing resistance. It is not sensitive to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Due to its better absorption in monogastric animals and higher blood concentration, it has better therapeutic effects on systemic infections. It is suitable for the treatment of respiratory, urinary, skin, and soft tissue infections caused by sensitive bacteria throughout the body.
Pharmacokinetics: Amoxicillin is quite stable to gastric acid. After oral administration to monogastric animals, 74% to 92% is absorbed. The contents of the gastrointestinal tract affect its absorption rate but not its absorption extent, so it can be administered mixed with feed. After the same dose is taken orally, the serum concentration of amoxicillin is 1.5 to 3 times higher than that of ampicillin.

Role and Uses

β-lactam antibiotics. It is used to treat infections caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria sensitive to amoxicillin in chickens.

Usage and Dosage

Calculated based on this product. Oral administration: for chickens, 0.067g to 0.1mg per kg of body weight, twice a day, for 5 consecutive days; mixed drinking: 0.2mg per liter of water for chickens, for 3 to 5 consecutive days.
